How price and carbon work together
Wholesale price guides live placement. Carbon data measures the emissions side of the same energy decision. Together, they create a path to lower-cost, lower-carbon inference.
What the public study found
Across seven U.S. electricity markets, the cheapest hours had lower average emissions in all 13 market-by-year comparisons. The typical gap was 33%.
How this relates to routing
JouleCloud first finds available GPUs, then favors locations where electricity costs less. If a price feed is briefly unavailable, requests keep moving across the available fleet.
Price-aware routing is live today. Adding carbon data will let JouleCloud optimize for both cost and emissions.
Build a complete energy picture
- Electricity price points to lower-cost power.
- Grid-emissions data shows the carbon impact.
- GPU availability, model support, latency, and local grid capacity determine where each request can run.
